Travel guide to Sydney with Baby

This is my little Dylan's virgin flight experience! Due to the long flight 8.5hr flight time to Sydney, DaddyWu was really sweet to have gotten us SQ business class seats so that the little one and myself can rest well onboard. This made nursing really comfortable as we can both lie down with the seats full reclined.

{ STAYS }

We have chosen Meriton Serviced Apartments at Pitt Street as it is positioned close to our leisure and baby needs. It is within easy walking distance to Darling Harbour, Hyde Park, Pitt Street mall, Westfields and two department stores. The world famous Queen Victoria Building is also just around the corner. An array of dining experiences options are close by which is really ideal. By choosing a serviced apartment, we are able to settle simple cooking for a 10-month old baby and preparation of his meals/milk needs.

Little Dylan is abit puzzled with the change of cool weather.

Such wonderful memories of our stay~ the little one is absolutely happy with our choice!

We were given a King-sized bed which was great as we co-sleep with our baby. The apartment was spacious, with ample space for the little one to crawl around. Best part of staying in a serviced apartment is that DaddyWu can whip up a storm as and when we like! Woolworths (their local grocery store) at Town Hall station opens 06:00 - 12:00am daily so we can always go down and grab some fresh fruits produce/food whenever we needed. It is a mere 5-minute walk from where are.

{ MUST EAT FOODS }

When you're in Australia, the must haves are definitely the brunch in the many cafes around the city. We stumbled into one such cafe over at the Rocks. Had the eggs benedict on toast (you can't go wrong with this one!) with our usual skinny flat whites where as hubby chose the orange marmalade toast set. The cafe was so warm and inviting, one can simply laze there the entire afternoon with a hot cuppa.

The super sinful desserts at Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe! Bought a zesty lemon tart for an indulgent late night supper!

We were walking around near the harbor area and found this quaint little bistro that serves homemade pumpkin soup, which was perfect for Dylan. He seems to enjoy it quite a fair bit!

Was craving for some Mediterranean fare and DaddyWu specially made booking and brought us to Medusa Greek Taverna, a highly rated Greek restaurant that is along Market street.

Hummus, my all time healthy eats! I love it with a dash of paprika!

Thank you for a wonderful meal DaddyWu! Dylan feels sleepy after eating so much!

When you're pretty rush for time, you must check out Ichi-ban Boshi Japanese restaurant. They have pretty good lunch deals and you will spot a great mix of students and office workers who love their ramen, tapas-style bites and not forgetting their awesome green tea lattes!

DaddyWu has arranged for Korean dinner at Naruone which is in Koreatown. We took the chance to catchup with his secondary school mate who too happened to be in Sydney for work. This Korean restaurant is nestled beneath a hairdresser and next door to a Nepalese restaurant. Look for the stairs to head down to the basement level of the restaurant and you will find that it is buzzing with mostly Asian Uni students. They are famous for their Korean fried chicken, no kidding. They were seriously finger-lickin' good!

Cooked with love by DaddyWu! Simple & delish!

Over at the other night, we had a casual dinner over at Ribs & Burger at the Cafe Court of The Star Casino Hotel. The ribs were so succulent and little Dylan almost wanted to try the onion rings! No way baby, not till you're two! haha!

{ MUST-GO PLACES }

You definitely gotta check out The Rocks market when you are here! Bustling with activities especially on weekends, you can see local artisans selling their hand-made handicraft and organic produces. Get a sense of Sydney's past exploring the little cobbled laneways, cozy cafes and oldest pubs in the country. Over here, you will find many interesting places to eat, drink and shop for some souvenirs to bring home.

Wet wet Sydney, what a week it has been!

Outside the Queen Victoria Building, a late nineteeth-century iconic building in the CBD area of Sydney designed by architect George McRae.

Shopping time makes Dylan a happy boy!

Bookstores are your best bet to make the little ones hungry to read!

Until the real hunger pangs kicks in, it's time for tea! Oh and cakes too! Heehee!

My all time fave cafe in Australia, Max Brenner! I oh-so-LOVE their flat whites and Chocolate Krantz! Gimme gimme all of these right now...

Toys"R"Us hunts! Little Dylan loves his first set of wooden Thomas the Train set!

Morning strolls at The Rocks!

Got to back to The Star to check out Adriano Zumbo, a newly renovated and modern sweets patisserie! Desserts galore awaits...

Now gimme some of those already! Our lil' one is super ecstatic! He's got a sweet tooth like his MooMoo!

I cannot remember how many times we have visited Max Brenner in this entire Sydney trip alone! I simply adore their coffee & hot chocolate drinks! That's the Crunchy Waffles Ball in their signature Hug Mug and my usual flat white order. :)

Our brown-hued *matchy-matchy* #OOTD complimented the cafe's color scheme perfectly!

{ BABY-FRIENDLY PLACES }

A trip to the local botanical gardens is always good! What is better than fresh air, greeneries and long walks with your loved ones? <3

This is the much highly-rated Cafe Sydney. Quintessentially Sydney, this cafe is well renowned for fine-seafood dining with a million dollar view. Nestled into the rooftop of Customs House, this stylish restaurant is a regular haunt for not just business clientele closing deals but also beautiful people soaking up the amazing view and enticing menu of locally sourced seafood and meats. Booking reservations are a must especially if you want to snag a table on the outdoor balcony.

Lunch was beautiful, I mean look at the pictures! ^.^

For something abit more unplanned, you can hop onboard Sydney's famous Manly Ferry, where to? To Manly of course!

UGH. Albeit stormy wet weather, we found refuge at a famous Thai joint, Chat Thai!

It was an interesting ferry ride for little Dylan, though he looks abit lost over here! We saw sea gulls and they were flying side by side with us when we were onboard the ferry. That made him excited for a little while.

Good Morning and GoodBYE Sydney! :D

Brekkie for the little one before we checked out.

Adios Meriton!!!

Our usual morning cuppa takeway from the nearby Workshop Expresso. Ahhh... Coffees in the morning is a sure wake-me-up!

  • We are so gonna miss the nice, cool weather!

    For those of you who love your red meat, you may want to take note of this wholesale butchery place called Vic's meat. We stopped by here on our way to the airport to pick up our wagyu beef buys! It is so much cheaper here than back home and quality assured too! They pre-packed it for us in a medium-sized ice box so that we can check it in for the flight back. Hassle-free! More info @ http://www.vicsmeat.com.au/products/wagyu_beef.html

    Little Dylan enjoying his flight! He was such a well-behaved baby boy!

    Big thanks to the very kind Indian stewardess who took such good care of us onboard!

    Specially ordered SFML (seafood meal) onboard! Heating done to perfection. :)

    This is what happens when it is raining most of the time! Shopping bonanza!!! Happy buys! :D So looking forward to another Sydney, this time around probably in summer with the kids!
